Ask an AI to plan your week and it does a genuinely good job. It drafts the schedule, balances the pickups, remembers the birthday present. What it cannot do is put any of that on the calendar your family actually checks, because it cannot see that calendar at all.
Quok is a shared family calendar, tasks, and lists with one difference that matters here: the AI apps you already use can connect to it and act as your family assistant. Not a chatbot we bolted onto a calendar, but the assistant you already trust, working with your family's real schedule.
What an AI family planner actually needs
The real calendar. Answers have to come from the shared calendar the whole family sees, not from the assistant's memory of an old conversation.
Permission to write. Adding the dentist appointment or moving swim practice has to land on that same calendar, visible to everyone, right away.
The family's rules. A helper that reads everything for everyone is a problem, not a feature. The assistant should see exactly what you can see, and nothing more.
Quok is an MCP calendar server
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard AI apps use to work with outside tools. Quok speaks it natively. Point Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-capable app at your family's Quok address and it can read the shared calendar, create and move events, and put items on the shopping list.
The connection signs in as you, through the same secure browser sign-in you use in the app. The assistant changes only what you could change yourself, private events stay private, every edit is recorded as yours, and you can revoke access from Quok at any time. Families are isolated from each other in the database itself.
Bring the AI you already use
There is no new chatbot to learn and no assistant subscription to buy from us. Connecting your own AI apps is part of Quok Plus, and setup takes about five minutes. Any organizer or adult in the family can set up their own connection, so the parent who plans in Claude and the one who plans in ChatGPT are both talking to the same calendar.
What your family can ask
"What does Saturday look like for the kids?" The assistant reads the real shared calendar, so the answer matches what everyone else sees.
"Move swim practice to five and tell me if it collides with anything." The event moves on the family calendar, and the conflict check runs against real events.
"Plan three dinners for the week and put the ingredients on the shopping list." The plan is nice. The ingredients landing on the real list is the part that saves the evening.
"Here's the school newsletter. Add the excursion to the calendar." Paste the whole message and let the assistant pull out the date, time, and what to pack.
Your schedule, your call
While an AI app is connected, your requests and the data it reads are processed by that provider under its own terms. If that trade-off is not right for your family, simply do not connect one, because every Quok feature works without an assistant.
