Think about a parent-teacher interview confirmation. The message has the day, time, school, teacher, and child. The usual routine is to hold those details in your head while you switch apps and rebuild the event.
Forwarding closes that gap while the email is still open. It removes the transcription, but it does not remove you from the decision.
How to forward school emails to a family calendar
Copy your family inbox address. You can find the private address in Quok settings.
Forward the message. Send it from the email address connected to your Quok family.
Review the proposed event. Check the title, date, time, place, and event type before saving.
Confirm or correct it. Once confirmed, the event appears in the shared family calendar.

Quok looks for one concrete event in each forwarded message. A booking confirmation, changed practice time, or invitation is a strong fit because the event is clear and datable.
The event is proposed, not silently added
Dates in family emails are not always simple. A message may mention the date it was sent, refer to "next Friday," or include an old time below a corrected one. A calendar entry should not become final just because software found a date.
That is why forwarded email arrives in Quok as a proposed event. You can confirm it, edit the details, or reject it. Nothing joins the active family calendar until someone reviews it.
The confirmation step is small, but important. It keeps AI in the role of removing repetitive work while the family keeps control of the plan.
What should you forward?
Start with messages where you would otherwise open the calendar and type. Useful examples include:
School appointments. Parent-teacher interviews, performances, field trips, and open days.
Activity changes. A moved match, cancelled lesson, or new training time.
Invitations. Birthday parties and family events with a clear date and place.
Confirmations. Dentist visits, travel bookings, classes, and other scheduled plans.
A long general newsletter with several unrelated dates is less precise. Forward the individual update you want to capture, or add the other events manually. If a message has no concrete, datable event, Quok does not invent one.
A practical inbox-to-calendar habit
The easiest system is the one you use while the information is in front of you. When an event email arrives, forward it before closing the message. Review proposals at a regular moment, such as after dinner or during the weekly family check-in.
